Comments from a net reader on yahoo this week in response to Van Gogh's art:  "Art is not about pretty pictures...It's about emotions." 

What makes the painting catch my eye and touch my heart?  Not so much the techniques, although those define the great masters.  To me, the artistic expression must denote freedom, and the painting must create a mood. It must deliver motion as well as emotions.  This Vietnamese artist has it.  I like his use of light blue-turn-violet (blue is a very hard choice of color for artists), and the freedom-embracing simplicity of his structure and lines found in his two pieces below.
