THE BITTER TASTE OF POETRY FOR APRIL 30, 1975, THE FALL OF SOUTH VIETNAM HAI CA^U THO* HAY CHO 30 THA'NG TU*

When the war is over
Lights from the battlefield still flicker on
Memory still lives
Questions are still asked:
Liberation for whom?
Imprisonment for whom?
Freedom for whom?
Exile for whom?

LIFE not LIVED
LIVE without LIFE

When the child born post-war gathers the pieces
of bones and breakage, she hears murmurs and echoes
that speak of genocide committed by children of the same mother
upon themselves...

SALUTE TO THE FLAG THAT IS NO MORE AT THE U.N.
"Bạc lòng nhưng chẳng cam lòng
mang theo nhục nước vào trong mộ phần" HHC

"Unluckly worn heart  does not mean contented heart
I shall take the humiliation of the country to my grave..."   DNN

"Though the heart's jaded,
The  soul won't cede.
 And the country's humiliation,
Inseparable I shall be from it
Till my last heartbeats." CCN
